Clear mobile app architecture and illustrative prototype to support efficient health services

Ikioma Medical Centre in Mikkeli wanted to develop a mobile application to improve the use and accessibility of e-services, but needed expert help in designing and assessing the feasibility.

Starting point

Ikioma Medical Centre needed a mobile application to improve the use and accessibility of e-services.
Expert assistance was needed in the design and feasibility assessment of the application to ensure that the technical requirements were met and the integration went smoothly.

Measures

Metatavu conducted an extensive preliminary study in which the architecture of the mobile application was designed, an interactive visual prototype was created using the Figma tool, and comprehensive documentation was prepared on technical requirements, integrations, and security-related solutions.

Result

Metatavu’s preliminary study met Ikioma’s expectations and laid a solid foundation for the further development of the mobile application. The medical center was particularly satisfied with the project results, especially the consideration of healthcare regulations and the seamless collaboration with the patient information system provider.

We improved the accessibility and security of the Ikioma mobile app
, enabling
more efficient use and smooth further development of eHealth services.

Versatile login

We built a secure and easy-to-use login system that supports both bank authentication and biometric authentication.
In this way, we enable fast and easy access to health services for all users.

User-friendly interface

Expert assistance was needed in the design and feasibility assessment of the application to ensure that the technical requirements were met and the integration went smoothly.

Comprehensive health record management

We created a clear user interface for the app, providing quick access to lab results, vaccination information and medical reports. Users can compare results, print them in PDF format and contact their doctor directly from the app. This makes the service more accessible and makes managing health information hassle-free.

"The preliminary study was carried out in good collaboration, through discussions and joint brainstorming. The project adequately considered healthcare regulatory requirements, such as system classification and registration matters. Communication with the patient information system provider was proactive, and we often only needed to confirm matters. We received realistic and suitable suggestions, which enabled us to plan further steps. The process was very transparent. Based on the thorough preliminary study, we decided to continue the project towards the development of Ikioma's mobile application. The insights from the preliminary study could be utilized as the project progressed, allowing us to get directly to the heart of the matter."
