Accessible and user-friendly website - Mikkeli Regional Library renewed to improve service
Metatavu implemented a comprehensive website redesign for the Mikkeli Regional Library and the Kirjastopolku website, meeting modern accessibility requirements and modernizing the site technology. Both sites were integrated into the city’s website, improving the discoverability and usability of services. The new user-friendly and accessible website, built on the WordPress platform, was quickly launched, providing an efficient and clear service experience for library customers.

The aim of the project was to update the Mikkeli Regional Library’s website and the Library Path website to meet accessibility and modern technical requirements. The sites were merged and integrated with the city’s website, improving the accessibility and usability of the services.
Measures
Metatavu worked closely with the City of Mikkeli to design and implement the website on the WordPress platform. During the project, special attention was paid to accessibility and user-friendliness, and the whole process was completed within a short timeframe.
Result
The result is a fresh and accessible website that combines the content of the Mikkeli Regional Library and the Library Path with the city’s website. The new website was successfully launched in April 2024 and now serves a wide range of library customers.
