A work instruction system that streamlines daily operations and improves quality

Plastep Oy is a contract manufacturer in the plastics industry that wanted to modernize the management of work instructions in their production. Together with Plastep, we designed and implemented a modern work instruction system that integrates into the company’s infrastructure and enterprise resource planning system. The solution supports quality management, reduces errors, and ensures up-to-date instructions on the production line – easily accessible to all users.

Starting Point

The goal was to find a solution that improves quality and document management and facilitates employees’ daily tasks. The project began with a service design phase, where we created a visual and interactive prototype. This allowed us to concretize the system’s key functions and user experience before technical implementation.

Actions

We also prepared a business case description and project plan, which enabled the implementation to be carried out in a controlled and transparent manner. The agile development model allowed for flexible change management throughout the project, and the system was built in close collaboration with Plastep’s team, supporting their processes.

Outcome

Plastep received a work instruction system that enhances quality management, reduces manual work, and streamlines daily processes. Plastep owns the solution’s source code and rights – which gives full control over future development.
The new work instruction system makes production routines smoother and quality management more transparent.
