Metatavu has been growing at a good pace, and to strengthen this growth, Mikko Lampi will assume the role of Metatavu’s CEO on November 1, 2023. We will continue to pursue success and growth, and we aim to be the best digitalization partner for our clients. We want to build a future that reflects Metatavu’s vision.
Lampi has served as Metatavu’s Business and Development Director since September 2019, and as a shareholder and board member since autumn 2020. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration and is an information technology engineer. Mikko has over 15 years of experience in digitalization and the software industry, including roles in business management, as a research manager, consultant, solution architect, and developer.
I am a seasoned neo-generalist in digital business. I have had a great opportunity to grow as part of Metatavu’s story and influence its development. Now, exciting times lie ahead, enabling new growth, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to develop the future of Metatavu.
The current CEO Jere Lauha will continue to work for Metatavu and will transition to be responsible for sales and customer relations. Lauha has served as Metatavu’s CEO since 2016. He will continue as a shareholder and will take Lampi’s place on the company’s board.
Metatavu’s growth rate has been remarkable so far, and it has been great to be a part of it. Mikko has been part of our growth story for over four years, so I believe that under Mikko’s leadership, Metatavu’s growth will continue as desired. Furthermore, I am already looking forward to doing more sales and customer work again.
Significant Growth in Recent Years
Metatavu is performing well. We have achieved annual self-financed growth of 50–80%. This year, revenue already showed over 40% growth in August, even though the busiest times of the year are still ahead. In the last fiscal year, we achieved a turnover of approximately 1.4 million euros and exceeded the one million mark for the first time in our history.
Our customer satisfaction is truly exceptional within the industry. Our NPS is 89, while the average in the software industry is 44, and in IT services, it’s 42. We also have satisfied employees. We are a certified Great Place to Work and, in our size category, were ranked the 9th best workplace in Finland (2022).
Our Goal: Growth, Strategic, Controlled, and Continuous Renewal
In its early years, Metatavu’s team consisted of three people. We grew organically to about twenty people within a few years. In summer 2021, we had the honor of being the first investment of the then newly established South Savo Growth Capital Fund. Approximately 90% of the company is still employee-owned.
Today, we are much more than a traditional software house. In addition to development, we also provide consulting, service design, user experience design, and DevOps. Our clients represent many industries, from manufacturing to logistics, from the public sector to higher education, and from agriculture to healthcare. We work with, among others, ETRA, Osuuskauppa Suur-Savo, the City of Helsinki, Järvikylä, Aalto University, the South Savo wellbeing services county Eloisa, and many others.
Our goal for the near future is to continue organic and controlled growth, recruit many more professionals, and improve productivity and profitability. Simultaneously, we will ensure our excellent customer and employee satisfaction. As we grow, we aim to remain a flat-hierarchical and modern organization. In the future, we will be able to serve even larger clients, implement even more demanding projects, and act as a reliable and agile partner for our clients.
